ORGANIZATION HISTORY

1978:   Originally founded as Power Transmission Technology Inc. by Dave Heidenreich and four others, the company’s purpose was to develop innovative power components and systems for a broad range of heavy equipment. The company name evolved to PT Tech as it developed numerous successful products for mining, power, tunneling, rubber, steel, recycling, and many other industries.

1984:   Our quarterly EBO Process (“Excellence By Objective”) was established and became an important continuous improvement tool for both the company and our employees. It empowered each employee to identify and implement ideas to grow themselves and our company. The “EBO” became so integral to our culture and success that it would later become our name.

1990:   An ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) was established to evolve the company ownership from the original founders to the employees. Its main purposes were to keep the company independent and to provide a long-term employee benefit to attract and retain top talent.

1995:   Keith Nichols became President of PT Tech, and Dave Heidenreich moved to Chairman of the Board, refocusing his efforts on product development. Dave and Keith strove to create a company culture fostering entrepreneurial innovation.

1998:   The HPTO (Hydraulic Power Take-Off) product line was headed by Ralph Rogers to develop advanced computer controlled diesel engine drives for the recycling and biomass industries.

2002:   We decided to devote some of our resources to developing products for growth markets outside of heavy industry. TransMotion Medical Inc. was launched to develop specialty medical chair/stretcher products for patient transfers, addressing the top cause of injuries in hospitals. All the employee-owners of PT Tech became part owners of TransMotion Medical, and provided outstanding support for incubating and growing this new venture.

2003:   We implemented ISO 9001-2000 With Design registration led by Gregg Cullings benefiting all aspects of the company, including honing its product development and testing processes.

2004:   IPESsol was started as a project to study the needs of the renewable energy industry and find potential solutions. All the employee-owners own part of the new venture and freely give their time and energy to incubating its development.

2006:   Our name was changed to EBO Group Inc. (Excellence by Owners) and was established as a parent company of PT Tech, TransMotion Medical, and IPESsol, to reflect our unique employee ownership structure. It has an extraordinary culture for successful product development and commercialization. Compared with typical new business incubators and venture capital funding, EBO Group provides a supportive structure for developing new endeavors and their long-term business success.

2007:   Triton Hybrid Drives, inspired by IPESsol, was added as a subsidiary of EBO Group Inc.

2008:   EBO Group was awarded the $1 million Advanced Energy grant from Ohio Third Frontier Program to develop the Triton Oil Cooled Electric Drive modules. This grant is the first awarded to EBO Group Inc.
