ORGANIZATION HISTORY

1978:   Power Transmission Technology Inc. was founded by Dave Heidenreich and four others to develop innovative power components and systems for a broad range of heavy equipment.  Established as a provider for several industries, including mining, power, tunneling, rubber, steel and recycling, the company name evolved to PT Tech and became known for its successful industrial product development and excellent customer service.

1984:   The quarterly EBO Process (“Excellence By Objective”) was established and became the continuous improvement tool for both the company and our employees. The process empowers all employees to identify and implement initiatives for personal and/or company growth. The “EBO” is integral to our company's culture and success.

1990:   An ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) was established to evolve the company ownership from the original founders to the employees. The ESOP maintains the company's independence and also provides the long-term employee benefit of attracting and retaining top talent.

1995:   Keith Nichols became President of PT Tech.  Dave Heidenreich focused his efforts on product development and became Chairman of the Board and Chief Technology Officer.  Keith and Dave shared the goal of creating and preserving a company culture that fosters entrepreneurial innovation.

1998:   Ralph Rogers led the HPTO (Hydraulic Power Take-Off) Clutch product line development. HPTO clutches provide advanced computer controlled diesel engine drives for the recycling and biomass industries.

2002:   TransMotion Medical Inc. was launched to develop specialty medical chair/stretcher products for safe patient transfers.  The need to reduce or eliminate the top cause of injuries to patients and hospital staff was identified as a potential growth market outside of heavy industry.   PT Tech employee-owners became venture capitalists by allocating resources for research and development of TransMotion Medical products and providing support for the incubation and growth of their new business venture.

2003:   Led by Gregg Cullings, PT Tech implemented ISO 9001: 2000 with Design Registration which benefits all aspects of the company, especially the honing of product development and testing processes.

2004:   IPESsol was started to study the needs of the renewable energy industry and to research potential solutions. The employee-owners generously contributed time and energy to incubating and developing this new venture.

2006:   PT Tech's name was changed to EBO (Excellence by Owners) Group Inc.  and was established as a parent company of PT Tech, TransMotion Medical, and IPESsol.  Our company name reflects our unique employee ownership structure and our extraordinary capability for successful product development and commercialization.  As a new business incubator, EBO Group provides not only venture capital funding but it also provides a supportive structure for the long-term success of its new business endeavors.

2008:   EBO Group, Inc. became 100% Employee Owned.
