EBO Group Donates Mobile Surgical Chair to Burn Institute

Christine Sadie, Nurse Manager, Burn Institute, gratefully accepts the medical stretcher-chair donation
by Dennis Pack and Betsy Mikalacki of TransMotion Medical a subsidiary of EBO Group, Inc.

AKRON
, Ohio, March 18, 2009 The employee owners of the EBO Group generously donated a TransMotion Medical, Inc. TMM5T Mobile Surgical Chair to The Paul and Carol David Foundation Burn Institute at Akron Children's Hospital. Dennis Pack, scheduler/buyer, and Betsy Mikalacki, marketing presented the chair to Christine Sadie, RN, nurse manager from Burn Institute and David Andrews, M.D., chairman of the Department of Surgery and medical director of the Burn Center on Feb. 24.  The surgical chair will be used in the institute’s Mary S. & David C. Corbin Outpatient Burn Center.

“Annually our employee owners choose to make a community donation.  Because Akron Children’s provides such a valuable service to Northeast Ohio and they are a valued customer of TransMotion Medical, we chose to make an in-kind donation in the form of one of our products the TMM5T surgical stretcher-chair,” said Keith Nichols, EBO president. “This donation is made with sincere appreciation to Children’s for the excellent burn care they provide to our community and the region.”

The TMM5T is a mobile stretcher-chair designed for outpatient surgery procedures – some of which include plastic and reconstructive surgery, ear, nose & throat and ophthalmology procedures.  Fully motorized positioning allows it to convert from chair to stretcher at the push of a button.  The articulating head-piece with wrist rest and exceptional height range of 23” to 39” assures superior surgeon access. The chair features memory foam surface cushions and padded, tuck-away side rails for added patient comfort and safety. Retail value: $11,315.

Since 1978, the Paul and Carol David Foundation Burn Institute at Akron Children's Hospital has provided specialized care for burn victims of all ages throughout northeast Ohio. Akron Children's Hospital is one of only two pediatric hospitals in the country that treats adult burn patients.
